Overview
All new paddlers and potential new members to Rugby Canoe Club
are directed to one of our BCU (British Canoe Union ) qualified coaches
prior to getting on the water.
The coaches, depending on where our canoeing is currently taking place
(winter or summer sessions), will inform paddlers of what the basic
requirements are concerning the sessions and outline the club in
general.
If the club is operating in the pool when you come along, the induction you receive will be different to the one you would receive if we are paddling at Draycote Water, our venue during the summer months.
The reason for this is the environment that we are paddling in dictates how we introduce new paddlers onto the water, but be assured that all safety aspects are fully covered at both venues.
Our aim is to get you afloat as quickly as possible, under the supervision of our club coaches and for you to develop your skills and enjoy the sport of canoeing.
Club Coaches
